Sydney passengers depart to Shanghai on MU562 at 11:00am and arrive at 7:20pm. Melbourne passengers depart to Shanghai on MU738 at 11:00am and arrive at 7:20pm. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to hotel.

Day 02: SHANGHAI (B.L.D)
Stroll the Nanjing Road and the Bund (Wai Tan) waterfront area, a sweeping area along the Huangpu River, where used to be foreign concessions and now is the symbol of modern Shanghai. Here is the best place to capture the western influence of the old days. Visit the Yuyuan Garden and the Old City Temple. You will also visit Xintiandi, a renovated and popular area in Shanghai full of dynamic bars, fancy restaurants and fashion shops. You will find lots of unique Shikumen remained along the street in the area, which are the traditional houses for Shanghai people.

After breakfast, you are transferred to airport for a flight to Wuhan, from where you will take bullet train to Yichang and board the five star cruise ship for your Yangtze River cruise. With a rich Chinese cultural heritage of thousands of years, the Three Gorges is not only a picturesque natural gallery, but also a spectacular treasure house.

In the morning, visit the Three Gorges Dam at Sandouping, the largest in the world. Later sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks. Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges. Additional Tribe of the Three Gorges Shore Excursion (river conditions permitting), offering an interesting glimpse into life in the Xiling Gorge region.

You will visit Goddess Stream “Small Gorges”, Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge today. Take an excursion through the Goddess Stream Small Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Enter Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty, forest-covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic gorge. Additional Shore Excursion to White Emperor City (river conditions permitting), an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge.

Take a shore excursion to Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda, appropriately named “The Pearl of the Yangtze”. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Fengdu, visiting either the new relocation village built for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze’s rising waters brought about by the Three Gorges Dam.

The cruiser arrives at its destination: Chongqing. Visit Panda House to see the Pandas. After lunch, you are transferred to airport to take flight to Xian. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your hotel. Dinner will be at your own expense.

Day 08, 12 Sep: XIAN (B.L.D)
Visit the Porcelain Terra Cotta Warriors Factory to see how the local make the porcelain terra-cotta figures, the same way, which their old generation used to make the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses for the Qin Shi Huang’s Tomb. Continue to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, the attached defending army to the first emperor of China, regarded as “the eighth wonder of the world” and among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Also have a visit to 6,000-year-old Neolithic village remain in Banpo Museum.
Later afternoon, you will be transferred back to hotel. You will enjoy a Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show and dinner in the evening.

Day 09: XIAN – BEIJING (B.L.D)
After breakfast, you will visit the Ancient City Wall, which is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but is also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defence systems in the world. After lunch, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon arrival, our tour guide will meet you in the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 10: BEIJING (B.L)
Beijing served as the capital of 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years with each emperor identified as a dragon sent from the heaven. Start your city tour to Tiananmen Square, followed by a visit to the Forbidden City. This complex, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with 9999 rooms, resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. In the afternoon, you will visit the Olympic Stadium and the Water Cube. Then visit the Heaven of Temple and Silk Market.
You will have a chance to enjoy the optional famous Kungfu (Martial Art) show in the evening (at your own cost).

Day 11: BEIJING (B.L.D.)
The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall at Juyongguan Path. The Great Wall is the most famous image of China throughout the world. It is the only man made object visible from the moon, and as one of the Eight Wonders of the world. It is a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and the pride of the Chinese nation. Later visit the Sacred Path of Ming Tombs. This is an attractive destination as much for the natural scenery of the area as for the tombs themselves. Visit the Cloisonne Factory and enjoy the famous Peking Duck dinner in the evening.

After breakfast, start your visit to Summer Palace and a Pearl factory for some shopping. After lunch, you are transferred to airport for your flight homewards to Australia and fly overnight.
