15 Day China Ethnic Adventure Tour

Day 01, 13 Apr: SYDNEY – KUNMING

Depart Sydney to Kunming in the evening and fly overnight to Kunming.

Day 02, 14 Apr:  KUNMING

ArrivingKunming(Provincial Capital) in the morning, our tour guide will meet you at the airport. You will first be taken to a local restaurant forKunming’s famous Rice noodles soup. After breakfast, you will travel to the incredibleStoneForest(about89 kmdrive fromKunming) which is regarded as one of the top natural wonders inChina. When arriving close to the Stone Forest, you will notice many small to medium stones shooting up in the fields directing their visitors to the amazing stone pinnacles of the forest.  In the evening, check into your hotel in Kunming. Stay overnight at Kunming Jinjiang Hotel**** or similar.


Day 03, 15 Apr: KUNMING – SHANGRI-LA (B.L.D)

Take a morning flight to Shangri-La to explore the Tibetan cultural areas including its Songzanlin Monastery, alpineBitaLakeand Shu Du Lake which are located in the “PudacuoNational Park”. In the evening you will visit a local Tibetan family where you will have a chance to enjoy Tibetan songs and dance. You are also invited to dance with local people. Stay overnight at Shangri-La Argyle Hotel**** or similar.


Day 04, 16 Apr: SHANGRI-LA – LIJIANG (B.L)

After breakfast, drive to the edge of the Tibetan plateau, which is near the upper source of the Yangtze River to visit its tremendous Tiger Leaping Gorge. After that, our coach will take you to an ancient town called “Lijiang”. Arrive at Lijiang in late afternoon. Upon your arrival, check into your hotel. Enjoy a leisure time walking in the old town. Stay overnight at Metropark Holiday Hotel Lijiang***** or similar.


Day 05, 17 Apr:  LIJIANG (B.L.D)

This morning visit Naxi tribal group’s village, You will have a chance to see the famous Naxi Baisha Murals such as Naxi and Han legends, and the 600-years-old Ten Thousand-Blossom Camellia Tree at the Yufeng Lama Temple. The cable car will take you to the Spruce Meadow which provides the best angle to see theSnowyJadeDragonMountain. Stay overnight at Metropark Holiday Hotel Lijiang***** or similar.

Day 06, 18 Apr:  LIJIANG - DALI (B.L.D)

Today you will visit the Black Dragon Pool and then travel by road to Dali. On the way you will pass through many enchanting minority villages (170kms). The afternoon tour will bring you to the ancient Bai village in Xizhou. You will see some ancient dwellings and experience the 'Three Cups of Tea Tasting Ceremony”, accompanied by traditional music and dance.

Day 07, 19 Apr: DALI (B.L)

Today you will visit the Three Towering Pagodas in Chongshen Monastery which was built in 836AD. You will also see the Bai Minority People tie their dying clothes with wax, visit a beautiful Bai Minority Fishing Village with its traditional style courtyards at Xizhou Town.  After that, enjoy a cruise on the beautiful Erhai Lake by small fishing boats to see the overwhelming sceneries. Stay overnight at Dali Regent Hotel**** or similar


8L9929, 20 Apr. Dali – Jing Hong (Xishuangbanna) 13:35/14:40

You are at leisure in the morning. Then you will travel to the airport to go to Xishuagbanna (Jing Hong). Upon arrival, you will first visit Jinzhen Octagonal Pavilion which is one of the best examples of the Dai (Minority group) style architecture. The pavilion is about 21meter high and 10 meter in diameter at the bottom. It was built in 1701 century as a place for worshipping the Buddha. Stay overnight at Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort***** or similar.


Day 09, 21 Apr. XISHUANGBANNA (B.L)

After breakfast, you will first visit theArboretumBotanic Gardento see the Tropical Plants. The myriads of these tropical plants form a picturing surrounding that attracts visitors to stay on for hours. In the afternoon, our coach will take you to Jing Hong which is the capital city of Xi-Shuang-Ban-Na. On the way to Jing Hong, you will visit the Wild Elephant Valley. In the evening, stay overnight at Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort***** or similar.


Day 10, 22 Apr: XISHUANGBANNA – PU’ER (B.L.D)

After breakfast, you will travel by road to Pu’er. (2.5 hrs drive). You will visit the Pu’er Tea Exhibition Garden. The name “Pu’er” is granted by the popularity of its local tea in Asia as well as other countries of the world. It is located on the foot ofYingpanMountain. The exhibition includes visiting Pu’er Tea Museum, tea making workshop, tea-picking and tea appraisal garden. In the evening, stay overnight at Pu’er Jing Lan Hotel**** or similar


Day 11, 23 Apr: PU’ER – YUANYANG (B.L.D)

Today you will travel to Yuanyang by bus (approx. 320km).  En-route you will see the famous Ancient Tea and Horse route which will take you traced back to the ancient time of Tang Dynasty. According to the history, tea and other products were transported toTibetthrough this route and to be traded for much needed horses. You will also pass through some of the mountains and steep valleys that markYunnan’s Landscape. You will also see the corn and wheat field that to be replaced by bananas, rubber and tea plantations. Stay overnight at Yuanyangsheng Village Hotel**** or similar.


Day12,24 Apr: YUANYANG (B.L)

Today you will have a panoramic rice terraces tour that starting from Duoyishu Scenic area for sunrise. As the sunlight appears on the horizon, it will bring you an unforgettable scenic sight. The Bada panoramic rice terraces start from the base of the mountain extended to the top of the mountain. Later you will drive 40 minutes to Laohuzui Scenic area. It is situated in the core area of Yuanyang Rice Terraces. The rice terraces are more rugged and marvelous. It looks like a natural picture painted by an artist. Stay overnight at Yuanyangsheng Village Hotel**** or similar.


Day 13, 25 Apr: YUANYANG –  JIANSHUI (B.L.D)

Drive to Jianshui (around 3 hrs). On the way there, you can enjoy the impressive terrace fields and villages of the Hani tribal group. Yuan-Yang’s Rice Terraces are the masterpiece landscape created by the Hani ethnic group. They have been named as land sculpture. The UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site has officially acknowledged the terrace fields. Stay overnight at Jianshui Zhujia Garden Inn Hotel**** or similar



After breakfast, visit Jianshui old town including Twin Dragon Bridge, one of the most beautiful bridges, which is classified as an important cultural relic under provincial protection. After that, continue to visit Family Zhu`s Garden and Confucian Temple. Then depart Jianshui to Kunming (210kms, approx. 3.5hrs). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel for refreshing. After dinner, you are transferred to the airport for your flight home.


Day 15, 27 Apr: SYDNEY

You arrive at Sydney in the afternoon. Your unforgettable China trip ends.
