15 Day Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights Tour 2014

This specially designed itinerary will give you a deep insight into Vietnam, a hardly untouched soil, abounding with beautiful scenery, historical cultural heritage and its friendly atmosphere. Combining this Vietnam tour with its neighbouring country, Cambodia for its legendary and mystical lost city of Angkor for the trip of a lifetime, you will indulge yourself completely throughout.

Depart Australia in the morning and arrive into Hanoi in the evening. Upon arrival, you are welcomed at the airport and transferred to hotel. Stay overnight in Hanoi.

Breakfast. This morning depart from Hanoi and travel by air-conditioned coach through the Red River Delta to beautiful Ha Long Bay. The scenic drive will pass through beautiful rural landscape before arriving in the afternoon at the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay - a bay with more than 3000 islands, which time, wind and waves have sculptured into fantastic shapes. Upon arrival, check into the junk at noon. Enjoy a fantastic cruise on Ha Long Bay to visit Thien Cung cave, Dau Go cave. Sail around Tuan Chau Island, Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island and Sail Island and a chance to swim at Titov Beach. Enjoy dinner on board while watching the sunset and enjoy fishing, drinking Vietnamese wine and spending a night on the junk.

Breakfast. A morning cruise to visit Man's head island, Tortoise Island, Luon cave, Bai Tu Long bay, Toad Island, Bai tho mountain. Return to Halong city and have lunch on board. Drive back to Hanoi. Enjoy a water puppet show in the evening.

Day 04: HANOI – HUE (B/L/D)

Today city tour includes such sights as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Fine Art Museum. Then move on to the Temple of Literature, Lake of Restored Sword and the Old Quarter. Transfer to airport for flight to Hue. Arrive in Hue and transfer to hotel for two nights in Hue.

Day 05: HUE (B/L/D)

Breakfast. This morning take a boat cruise on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the most beautiful Pagodas in Vietnam built at the end of 16th century. Also visit Kinh Minh Mang's tomb. This afternoon visit the Imperial Palace - a citadel surrounded by a large moat. Then continue to visit King Tu Duc’s Tomb. Western Set Dinner. After dinner enjoy traditional music on the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue.

Day 06: HUE – HOI AN (B/L/D)

This morning drive over the mighty Hai Van Pass. On the way visit Cham Museum where the remaining evidence of the Champa civilization can be viewed. Then visit the Marble Mountains, which is a fascinating maze of cave and temples, hidden with five sacred marble rocks. Visit Hoi An town with its Japanese Bridge, Old House, Chinese Temple and Hoi An Cultural Museum.  Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 07: HOI AN – MY SON – HOI AN (B/L/D)

Visit My Son, Vietnam's most important Cham ruins site and Bang An which is one of Vietnam's best preserved Cham towers. In the afternoon you are free for shopping around Hoi An Town. Overnight in Hoi An.

You are transferred to Danang airport for the flight to Saigon in the morning. Upon arrival, you will visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Saigon Post Office. This evening enjoy your dinner on Saigon River.

Today you will visit the former Presidential Palace and the History Museum. Then drive to Cu Chi guerrilla's area and visit the underground tunnels. There are more than 200km of tunnels that were built by the Communist guerrillas during the war. Drive to Can Tho City, considered as the capital of Mekong Delta. Visit Caodaist Temple in Cai Lay district on the way. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 10: CAN THO – CHAU DOC (B/L/D)
Breakfast. Morning take the boat ride to visit the floating market and fruit garden. Enjoy lunch with typically traditional musical performance. In the afternoon, drive to Chau Doc to visit Cham Village by boat. Check in and Overnight in Chau Doc.

After breakfast, take a boat ride to Phnom Penh (about 3.5 hours). Upon arrival, visit the Independent Monument Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and National Museum. Have your lunch at local restaurant. Continue your visit to Wat Phnom, Toul Sleng Museum and Pailin Souvenir Shop. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Siem Reap Province. En-route, visit Stong (Kompong Thom). Arrive at Siem Reap in the afternoon, check into hotel. Visit local market & free at own leisure. Stay overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 13: SIEM REAP (B/L/D)

Visit Banteay Srey Temple and South Gate Angkor Thom, Bayon. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue your tour to Ta Promh Temple and Angkor Wat Temple.

After breakfast, visit Cambodian Cultural Villages. Your programs include Wax Museum, which exhibits the well-know persons of Cambodia since the century until the present, Miniatures which gather all the miniatures of famous historical buildings and structures, former capital Ou Dong, Royal palace, National Museum, Wat Phnom, Phsar Thmey, 12th century Kompong Kdey Bridge, 16th century reclining Buddha, Independent Monument and more! You will see carvings (Carvers who work in Cambodian Cultural village have skills on carving stone, wood and carving silver), traditional dances Show (Cambodia has a long and rich tradition of classical dance, also know as Apsara dancing. Though some of the dances are shared with other cultures in the region, the slow graceful style of Cambodian dance is unique) and Villages (There are many types of houses in Khmer village such as House Peth, House Kantaing, House Raungdoeung, Sala Chan as a small pagoda, etc). You are free at own leisure until transfer to airport for flight to Australia.



Arrive in Australia in the morning. Your unforgettable Vietnam and Cambodia tour ends.
