17 Day Myanmar Highlights Tour 2017 (Tour Code: MHT)

Day 01: Australia – Singapore

Depart from Sydney to Singapore. Upon arrival, you need to go to service desk to get your transfer and hotel voucher and then get shuttle bus to hotel. Stay overnight in Singapore.

Day 02: Singapore – Yangon (D)

You are at leisure in the morning until taking a shuttle bus to airport for your flight to Yangon, the capital of Myanmar. Upon arrival, you will be met by our guide at Yangon International Airport and transferred to the hotel for the night.

Day 03: Yangon (B.L.D)
Today's sightseeing tour includes the old colonial style city center, the gilded Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years and Chauk Htat Gyi, a huge reclining Buddha image, followed by a photo stop at Karaweik Hall royal floating barge. An extended visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments will conclude the tour of this picturesque Garden City. The golden dome of Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Enjoy lunch and dinner at good Local restaurant. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Yangon – Bagan (Flight, Car) (B, L, D)
In the morning, depart to the airport for flight to Bagan. Visit the Nyaung Oo local market, and then to Shwezigon Pagoda, built with sandstones in the early 11th century, visit Ku ByaukGyi (Wet-gyi-inn), a temple with beautiful mural paintings, and then to Htilominlo Temple for its Architectures and to the Ananda Temple, the famous temple in Bagan built in 11th century. Then visit to make photo stop at the tallest temple measuring 61 meters - Thatbyinnyu known as “temple of omniscience” and dating from AD 1144. Late afternoon visit Dhamayangyi, a massive looking temple dating from AD 1170 that is famous for its interlocking mortar less brickwork and Manuha Temple, which was built by the exile Mon King Manuha. Also visit Gubyaukgyi (Myinkabar) temple, for its colourful mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO. Then visit a lacquer ware craftsmen’s workshop. In the evening a dinner with puppet show awaits you at local restaurant. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Bagan – Heho – Kalaw (Flight, Car) (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for a domestic flight to Heho. As soon as you arrive you will proceed by road to Kalaw. It is situated in the western part of the Shan Plateau, very popular in British times for its fantastic hill station. You can still see the colonial influence in the beautiful Tudor Style houses that remain. Kalaw weather is very cool because of its altitude, 1320 metres above sea level. Visit Kalaw Market, Shwe U Min cave and Thein Daung Monastery. Enjoy lunch at local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 06: Kalaw Trekking (Myin Ka) (B, L, D)
After breakfast, trekking to Myin Ka village takes approximately 1 hour from the starting point near Kalaw for one way.The Danu tribe people live in this village and you can study their ways of life. And then drive back to Kalaw. Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Kalaw.

Day 07: Kalaw – Pindaya – Inle (Car, Boat) (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will proceed by road to Pindaya and then visit the Shwe U Min cave with 8094 Buddha images and umbrella workshop. Then you will continue to NyaungShwe. And then transfer to your hotel. Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Inle.

Day 08: Inle – Inndein – Inle (Boat) (B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, one of the most sacred shrines in Myanmar, dating back to the 18th century; the Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, famous for its jumping cats trained by monks; the weaving village of Inpawkhon and one of the local markets in the Inle Lake region (on market days only). Lunch at good Local Restaurant. After lunch, depending on the water level, you will board a boat to the Western Shore of Inle Lake, where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the well-hidden Inn Dein pagoda complex. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Inle.

Day 09: Inle – Sakar – Inle (Boat) (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will take 2:50 hour's boat trip to Sakar (Ancient historical village). On the way visit the pottery local workshop. Along the river you can see the Shan village life. Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Return back in evening. Stay overnight and dinner at the hotel.

Day 10: Inle – Heho – Yangon (Flight, Car, Boat) (B, L, D)

After breakfast, transfer to airport to take domestic flight to Yangon. Arrival Yangon the tour continues with visits to some Handicrafts centres. Late evening, buffer Dinner with Myanmar Traditional Culture Show at Karaweik Palace -a restaurant located on the Royal Lake. It is built in the style of Royal Barge used by Myanmar Kings for official functions and festivities. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Yangon – Sittwe (Flight, Car) (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for domestic flight flight to Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine state. You will explore a city with a mixture of Indian and Southeast Asian influences by the Bay of Bengal. After check-in in your hotel, visit the lively fish market and the cultural . Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Sittwe.

Day 12: Sittwe – Mrauk U (Boat, Car) (B, L, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will cruise upstream along Kaladan River on a boat trip to Mrauk U, a major archaeological site in Myanmar. Arriving in Mrauk U at midday, you will witness the magnificence of this ancient town, famed as Myanmar's second eminent temple site after Bagan. Visits to Koethaung Temple, Pitakataik Library, Laungbanpyauk Pagoda, Yadana Mannaung and Sakaya Mannaung Pagodas. Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Mrauk U.

Day 13: Mrauk U (Car) (B, L, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will visit the local market to experience the local lifestyles before exploring the ruins of the Royal Palace and the Archaeological Museum. Observe the exemplary skills and art display in Mrauk U's most significant monument - Shitthaung Temple, which contains a remarkable collection of Arakanese Buddha images and relief in its maze-like and fortress-like layout. You will learn more of Mrauk U's history by exploring the unique stone carvings in the multi-spire Andawthein Ordination Hall, the circular Ratanabon Pagoda, vaulted passages with impressive stone sculptures in the huge fortress-like temple of Dukkhanthein and the first erected pagoda at Laymyetnha. Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Mrauk – U.

Day 14: Mrauk U (Boat) (B, L, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, transfer to Mrauk U jetty, direction Chin village. You will visit the village and you will see women with traditional Tattoos,, living in houses made from bamboo that look like they are going to fall down. After that return back to
Mrauk U. Lunch at good Local Restaurant. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, in Mrauk U.

Day 15: Mrauk U – Sittwe – Yangon (Boat, Flight, Car) (B, L, D)

After breakfast return back to Sittwe by boat along the Kaladan River. Arrive at Sittwe and transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Yangon. Arrival in Yangon and visit to the Kaba Aye Pagoda - World Peace Pagoda and after this an evening stroll in china Town and the fruit Market. Lunch & dinner at good Local Restaurant. Accommodation at the Hotel, in Yangon.

Day 16: Yangon – Singapore – Australia (B)
