Day 01: Sydney oe Melbourne – Doha

Depart Sydney or Melbourne to Zagreb, capital of Croatia via Doha on Qatar Airways in the evening and fly overnight.

Day 02: Doha – Zagreb (D)

Connect your flight in Doha to Zagrb in the morning and arrive at Zagreb airport at 12.05. You are met and transferred to the Croatian capital Zagreb for first panoramic tour with a bus (King Tomislav Square, Marulic Square, Opera house ...). Accomodation at hotel and time for rest and refreshment (After a long flight, you will have some time to adjust yourself from your jetlag before your Balkan tour begins on teh following morning). Free time for leisure in the center of the city for first impression possible if required.

Day 03: Zagreb – Ptuj – Maribor (120 km) (B, D)
Zagreb city tour in the morning: walking through Dolac market and visit to the Cathedral. Scroll aroung Ban Jelacic square and take a ride with funicular to St Mark's Square with parlaiment and presidential palace, Stone Gate. Depart from Zagreb, crossing border to Slovenia and afternoon arrival into Ptuj, the oldest town in Slovenia. Visit the castle and have a walking tour through old city centre. In the evening, you will arrive at the second biggest Slovenian town Maribor.

Day 04: Maribor – Zice – Ljubljana (160 km) (B, D)
Enjoy a morning city tour through the old centre of Maribor: Franciscan church, castle, Slomsek square, Theatre, University, Main square and visit to the old Vine – the oldest in the World. After that, depart from Maribor and arrive at the famous Carthusian Monastery in Zice (over 800 years old) and visit the ruins of the monastery. Next stop will be in the famous wine region nearby for visiting one of the wine cellars where tasting will take place. Continue to the central part of Slovenia and late afternoon arrive at Slovenian capital Ljubljana. Enjoy your dinner with traditional folklore programm (Slovenian evening).

Day 05: Ljubljana – Bled – Ljubljana (130 km) (B, D)
Have a morning city tour: walk through the streets of Ljubljana, described by many visitors as the most beautiful capital in the world. Walk along its lively streets, feel the life in the central market and in numerous picturesque squares. See the famous Triple Bridge, make a stop at the Dragon Bridge, ascend to the mighty Ljubljana Castle via funicular railway, and visit one of the many pubs along the Ljubljanica embankment. In afternoon, depart to the nothwest part of Slovenia to lake Bled. Visit Bled, the pearl of the Alps with more than a thousand years of history. Drive and walk along the famous Lake with its island and the castle high above its clear surface. Boat trip to the Bled Island in a traditional Pletna boat, ring the wishing bell and let some of your wishes come true. You will also have a chance to taste famous dessert – the [Bled cream cake]. Return to Ljubljana.
Including: return ticket for cable car (funicular) to the Ljubljana castle, boat trip to Bled island in a traditional Pletna boat, entrance to St. Mary church on the Bled island.

Day 06: Ljubljana – Postojna – Lipica – Piran - Ljubljana (260 km) (B, D)
Day trip to Postojna and Slovenian coast. Visit the World famous Postojna cave with train and local guide. Stop at Lipica to admire white Lipicaner horses. Visit to the old coastal town of Piran (Tartini square and St. George Church). Return to Ljubljana.
Including: entrance fee to the Postojna cave.

Day 07: Ljubljana – Otocec – Zadar - Sibenik (470 km) (B, D)
In the morning depart to the southeast of Slovenia. You will have interesting stop at Castle Otocec. Cross the border to Croatia and continue on the highway to the coastal region of Dalmatia. In the afternoon, you will arrive at the coastal town of Zadar. Enjoy a walking tour through the old town with church of St. Donat and stop to admire famous Sea Organ. Accomodation in Sibenik or nearby area. Accomodation at the hotel****.

Day 08: Sibenik – NP Krka – Sibenik (60 km) (B, L,D)
After breakfast drive to Krka National park, named after the river Krka that it encloses. It is a beautiful park with breathtaking scenery. Enjoy a walking tour over the wooden path to see stunning waterfalls. Our next stop will be at the open air museum Etnoland Dalmati. Visit the museum with local traditions and typical lunch with wine included will follow. In the afternoon visit the old town centre of Sibenik with its famous St. James Cathedral (listed under UNESCO World Heritage). Return to the hotel.

Day 09: Sibenik – Trogir – Omis - Makarska (180 km) (B, D)
After breakfast continue to drive along the coast to the medieval town of Trogir and stop to admire the old town centre and some time for leisure. Afternoon arrival at Omis, enjoy a boat tour through river Cetina gorge – natural sight. Continue to famous Makarska riviera coast and accomodation in Makarska or nearby area.

Day 10: Makarska – Medjugorje – Mostar – Dubrovnik (250 km) (B, D)
In the morning, depart from Makarska. Cross border to Bosnia and Herzegovina and visit Medjugorje – very well known pilgrimage place for christians – stop for visit the sanctuary. Continue to medivial part of town Mostar with famous bridge over Neretva river (have a walking tour through the old town with an oriental spirit). In the afternoon, return to Croatia through very scenic valley or river Neretva and travel along the Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik - pearl of the Adriatic and protected by UNESCO World Heritage. Regarded as museum city and at the same time a live stage, it represents a perfect cross between the past and the present. Accomodation at the hotel****.

Day 11: Dubrovnik (B, D)
After breakfast visit the old town centre of Dubrovnik with Stradun, St. Onofri church, Franciscan monastery with pharmacy and cathedral. Walk around the town walls. You will have free time for leisure in the afternoon in Dubrovnik (You can choose an optional tour with cable car to Srd Hill - the best views of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area). Accomodation in Dubrovnik at the same hotel.
Including: entrance fee to the Franciscan monastery with pharmacy and ascend to the town walls in Dubrovnik.

Day 12: Dubrovnik – Kotor – Budva (120 km) (B, D)
Today you will depart from Dubrovnik to Budva in Montenegro. Cross border to Montenegro and travel along Boka Kotorska bay to Kotor – medieval town under UNESCO protection. Stop for a visit. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Budva, one of the most famous seaside resort in Montenegro. Have a short walking tour through the old town centre. Accomodation in Budva or nearby area at the hotel****.

Day 13: Budva – Kruja – Tirana (190 km) (B, D)
After breakfast drive along the coast of Montenegro with stop near the famous Sveti Stefan. Cross border to Albania and travel through Shodra to Kruja, the old Albanian capital. Visit the Skenderbeg Fortress and Museum. Accomodation in Tirana or Durres at the hotel****

Day 14: Tirana – Elbasan – Ohrid (150 km) (B, D)
Enjoy a morning city tour of the Albanian capital Tirana: Skenderbeg square, watch tower, opera, national library and Etem Beg mosque. Visit the National Museum. Travel through Elbasan to Macedonian border. Arrive at Ohrid lake and accomodation in Ohrid city. You arrive at Ohrid in the evening and stay overnight at the hotel**** in Ohrid.
Including: entrance fee to the National Museum in Tirana.

Day 15: Ohrid – Skopje (180 km) (B, D)
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour in Ohrid (old town centre is listed under UNESCO World Heritage): typical arhitecture, St. Sofia Church, roman amphiteatre, Samoil's Fortress, market place "carsija". Travel to the northern part of Macedonia and in the afternoon, arrive at capital city of Skopje and enjoy a sightseeing tour (Fortress Kale, stone bridge, st. Spas orthodox church, mosque, famous market place "carsija"). Accomodation in Skopje at the hotel****.

Day 16: Skopje – Rila – Sofia (370 km) (B, D)
Proceed to the east and cross border to Bulgaria. Travel through the Bulgarian countryside and visit one of Bulgaria's most famous UNESCO sites. Stop for a visit to Rila Monastery, the biggest and most frequented religious and tourist site in Bulgaria. Afterward, arrive at Bulgarian capital Sofia in the late afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a folklore show with dinner.

Day 17: Sofia – Belgrade (410 km) (B, D)
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Sofia: St. Sofia Church, Cathedral of Aleksander Nevski, Parliament, University, Russian Monument Square. Depart from Sofia and cross border to Serbia. Travel northward passing Nis. Arrive at the serbian capital Belgrade. Typical dinner with local musicians will be organised at Skadarlija – part of the old town with bohemian atmosphere. Accomodation at the hotel****.

Day 18: Belgrade (B, D)
After breakfast a city tour of Belgrade will follow: Market place, University, Parliament, Nikola Pasic Square Republica square, Knez Mihajlova street, Kalemegdan – old fortress of Belgrade. Visit the unfinished Ortodox Church of St. Sava. You will have a boat tour on Sava or Danube river. Enjoy your dinner with music in one of the floating restaurants on the river.
Including: boat trip on Sava or Danube river.

Day 19: Belgrade – Doha – Sydney or Melbourne (B)

1. Qatar Airways economy class return ticket: Sydney/Melbourne – Doha – Zagreb//Belgrade – Doha – Sydney/Melbourne

3. Seventeen night accommodation at nice 4 star hotels with breakfast;
4. One lunch and seventeen dinners as mentioned in the itinerary (mostly at hotel restaurants, some dinners will be organised as stated in the itinerary with program in the local restaurants);
5. Transfers and transport with modern air-conditioned vehical (*in case there are only 6 to 8 people in the group, the transportation will be carried out with our modern air-conditioned minibus - luxury van with lot of space for passengers and luggage and our tour leader will also be a driver);
