23 Day China Panorama Tour 2017-2018

Day 01: SYDNEY – KUNMING
Depart to Kunming on China Eastern Airlines in the evening and fly overnight.

Day 02: KUNMING ARRIVAL (L.D)
Arrive in Kunming in the morning. Upon arrival, met and transferred to hotel where you will leave your luggage at the concierge. You will then have a city orientation tour in Kunming and visit to the local biggest Bird & Flower market of the Old Kunming City if time permits. Stay overnight at Kunming

Day 03: KUNMING – DALI (B.L.D)
You will fly to Dali in this morning, met and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon tour brings you to the ancient Bai village of Xizhou. See the ancient dwellings and experience the 'Three Cups of Tea Tasting Ceremony', accompanied by traditional music and dance. Stay two nights at Dali.

Day 04: DALI (B.L.)
Today you will visit the Three Towering Pagodas of Chongshen Monastery built in 836AD. Also, see the Bai Minority People tie dying cloth with wax. Visit a beautiful Bai Minority Fishing Village with its traditional style courtyards at Xizhou Town and cruise on the beautiful Erhai Lake by a small fishing boat will let you enjoy the overwhelming sceneries. Day 05: DALI – LIJIANG (B.L.D)
Today you will travel by road to Lijiang and pass through many enchanting minority villages on the way. Upon your arrival, met and transfer to the four-star hotel that is located near the old town of Dayan. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the old town. Stay two nights at Lijiang.

Day 06: LIJIANG (B.L.D)
This morning visit the Naxi Village, Baisha Murals depicting Tibetan, Naxi and Han legends, and the 600-years-old Ten Thousand-Blossom Camellia Tree at the Yufeng Lama Temple. You can take the cable car to the Spruce Meadow which provides the best angle for you to see the holy Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. And the next stop is to visit the Black Dragon Pool. Day 07: LIJIANG – ZHONGDIAN (B.L.D)
Continue driving from Lijiang to Shigu Village, at the First Bend of the Yangtze River; visit the tremendous Tiger Leaping Gorge, then drive on to Zhongdian that is on the edge of the Tibetan plateau. You will visit a local Tibetan family on the way. Stay two nights at Zhongdian.

Day 08: ZHONGDIAN (B.L.D)
Explore Zhongdian and the surrounding Tibetan cultural areas, including the large Songzanlin Monastery and the alpine Bita Lake & Shu Du Lake which are in the Pudacuo National Forest Park.

Day 09: ZHONGDIAN – KUNMING (B.L.D)
After breakfast, you are transferred to airport for your flight to Kunming. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour to Western Hill with a Dragon Gate carved into the sheer cliff, and spectacular views over Kunming and Dianchi Lake. Stay two nights at Kunming.

Day 10: KUNMING (B.L.D)
Today, you will travel to the incredible Stone Forest, 89 km from Kunming, known as The No. 1 Wonder under Heaven. Along the trip you will notice small stones growing out of the fields before reaching the amazing stone pinnacles of the forest itself. In the evening, you will be invited to enjoy a Minority Show to see the colorful China minorities’ costumes and wonderful performances.

Day 11: KUNMING – SHANGHAI (B)
You are at leisure until transfer to airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to hotel. You will have a free afternoon in Shanghai to explore this exciting city on your own.

Day 12: SHANGHAI (B.L.D)
Stroll the Nanjing Road and the Bund (Wai Tan) waterfront area, a sweeping area along the Huangpu River, where used to be foreign concessions and now is the symbol of modern Shanghai. Here is the best place to capture the western influence of the old days. Visit the Yuyuan Garden and the Old City Temple. You will also visit Xintiandi, a renovated and popular area in Shanghai full of dynamic bars, fancy restaurants and fashion shops. You will find lots of unique Shikumen remained along the street in the area, which are the traditional houses for Shanghai people.

Day 13: SHANGHAI – WUHAN – YICHANG – YANGTZE CRUISE (B.D)
After breakfast, you are transferred to airport for a flight to Wuhan, from where you will be transferred to Yichang by coach to board the five star cruise ship for your Yangtze River cruise. With a rich Chinese cultural heritage of thousands of years, the Three Gorges is not only a picturesque natural gallery, but also a spectacular treasure house.

Day 14: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B.L.D)
In the morning, visit the Three Gorges Dam at Sandouping, the largest in the world. Later sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks. Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges. Additional Tribe of the Three Gorges Shore Excursion (river conditions permitting), offering an interesting glimpse into life in the Xiling Gorge region.

Day 15: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B.L.D)
You will visit Goddess Stream “Small Gorges”, Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge today. Take an excursion through the Goddess Stream Small Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Enter Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty, forest-covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic gorge. Additional Shore Excursion to White Emperor City (river conditions permitting), an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge.

Day 16: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B.L.D)
Take a shore excursion to Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda, appropriately named “The Pearl of the Yangtze”. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Fengdu, visiting either the new relocation village built for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze’s rising waters brought about by the Three Gorges Dam.

Day 17: CHONGQING – XIAN (B.L.D)
The cruiser arrives at its destination: Chongqing. After disembarkation, you are transferred to airport to take flight to Xian. Upon arrival, you are met and visit the city wall and bell tower.

Day 18: XIAN (B.L.)
Today you will be taken to visit the incredible Terra-Cotta Warriors and the 6000-year-old Neolithic village remain in Banpo Museum. On the way to Terra-Cotta Warriors, you will have the chance to visit the Terra-Cotta Warriors Factory and maybe you have the chance to bring one back Home. You will enjoy a Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show and dinner in the evening (optional at your own cost).

Day 19: XIAN – BEIJING (B.L.D)
After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon arrival, our tour guide will meet you in the airport and transfer you to the hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit Beijing Zoo to see the cute pandas.

Day 20: BEIJING (B.L.)
Beijing served as the capital of 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years with each emperor identified as a dragon sent from the heaven. Start your city tour to Tiananmen Square, followed by a visit to the Forbidden City. This complex, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with 9999 rooms, resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. In the afternoon, you will visit the Olympic Stadium and the Water Cube. You will have a chance to enjoy the optional famous Kungfu (Martial Art) show in the evening (at your own cost).

Day 21: BEIJING (B.L.D.)
The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall at Juyongguan Path. The Great Wall is the most famous image of China throughout the world. It is the only man made object visible from the moon, and as one of the Eight Wonders of the world. It is a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and the pride of the Chinese nation. Later visit the Sacred Path of Ming Tombs. This is an attractive destination as much for the natural scenery of the area as for the tombs themselves. Visit the Cloisonne Factory and enjoy the famous Peking Duck dinner in the evening.

Day 22: BEIJING – AUSTRALIA (B.L.)
After breakfast, start your visit to Summer Palace and a Pearl factory for some shopping. After lunch, you are transferred to airport for your flight homewards to Australia and fly overnight. Sydney passengers depart Beijing at 3:50pm on MU727 to Sydney via Nanjing and Melbourne passengers depart Beijing at 3:45pm on MU5200 to Shanghai and then connect MU737 to Melbourne.

Day 23: AUSTRALIA
Arrive in Australia in the morning. Your unforgettable China tour ends.
