DESCRIPTION

Enjoy visiting two East Asian countries with Asia Discovery Tours- Japan and South Korea. You will get a chance to see Seoul, capital of South Korea as well as Nami Island, a half-moon shaped island in South Korea nearby Petite France. Take a visit to experience the atmosphere of the DMZ, one of the militarised zones on Earth and the border with North Korea and enjoy your time in Japan with a visit to Osaka, Kyoto, Hakone and Tokyo. You will see the Great Buddhist Statue in Kamakura, one of the largest in Japan, the pristine Lake Ashi and the famous Golden Pavilion. ITINERARY

Day 01, 24 MAR: SYDNEY – SEOUL

Depart to Seoul, Capital of South Korea in the morning and arrive in the evening. Upon arriving at Incheon Airport, you are met and transferred from Incheon International Airport to the hotel.

Day 02, 25 MAR: SEOUL (B.L.D)

Meet with the guide at the hotel lobby. Start your Seoul sightseeing tour which includes Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Folk Museum. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to travel past by Blue House. Have Kimchi making and Hanbok wearing experience. Continue to visit Changdeokgung Palace, Jogyesa Temple and Dongdaemun Market. You will have your dinner at a local restaurant before you are transferred back to your hotel for the night.

Day 03, 26 MAR: NAMI ISLAND AND PETITE FRANCE (B.L.D)

After breakfast, meet with your guide at the hotel lobby. Transfer to Petite France. You will have free time at Petite France. Afterwards, transfer from Petite France to Nami Island. Have your lunch at a local restaurant. You will enjoy your free time at Nami Island. Afterwards, return to Seoul. Enjoy your dinner in a local restaurant. After dinner, return to your hotel.

Day 04, 27 MAR: DMZ TOUR (B.L.D)

After breakfast, meet at the pick-up point in the hotel. Transfer to DMZ. Visit the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, Dorasan Station and Imjingak Pavilion. Have your lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Korean War Memorial. And then visit a Ginseng Shop before you have dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, drop off at hotel.

Day 05, 28 MAR: SEOUL CITY TOUR (B.L.D)

After breakfast, meet with the guide at the hotel lobby. Proceed to visit Starfield Library and COEX Mall. Have your lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Bukchon Hanok Village, Insadong Antique Street, N Seoul Tower and Myeongdong Street. After dinner, drop off at hotel.

Day 06, 29 MAR: SEOUL – OSAKA (B)

You are at leisure until transfer to airport for your flight to Osaka, Japan in the afternoon. Upon arrival in Osaka, free pick-up service at Osaka Kansai Airport Terminal 1. We will have a guide onsite to assist you to take a train or bus to the hotel.

Day 07, 30 MAR: OSAKA (B)
Free Leisure Day or you may join a One-day Hiroshima Optional tour (USD369/pp). 
Optional tour: After breakfast, take high speed train to Hiroshima (1.5 hrs). Upon arrival, visit Itsukushima, Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial. Return to Osaka by high speed train in the evening.

Day 08, 31 MAR: OSAKA – KYOTO (B.L)
In the morning, visit Osaka’s landmark – Osaka Castle as a photo stop, and then visit the Osaka Fish Market: Kuromon Market. Enjoy a variety of seafood and sushi. Visit Nara Park and Todai Temple to see the deer and traditional temple. In the afternoon, proceed to Kyoto to visit the World Cultural Heritage site, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and stroll along the Ninenzaka and Sannezaka Streets. Return to the hotel with the tour guide at the designated time with your tour guide. Dinner is at your own arrangements.

Day 09, 01 APR: KYOTO (B.L) 
After breakfast, head to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and the Togetsukyo Bridge. After, visit the famous attraction, Golden Pavilion, and then visit traditional brewery to taste and learn the brewing process of sake. Then, visit Fushimi Inari-taisha, a shrine on the south side of Kyoto. It serves the Japanese kami of foxes, fertility, rice, tea, sake and agriculture. Free leisure time afterwards. Dinner is at your own arrangement.

Day 10, 02 APR: KYOTO – HAKONE – TOKYO (B.L.D)
After breakfast, accompanied by a guide, take the Shinkansen (high-speed train) to Hakone (Baggage carried on own). After arriving in Hakone, take the bus to Oshino Hakkai and take a boat to see the beauty of Lake Ashi. Lake Ashi is a great place to see the views of Mount Fuji. Later travel to Tokyo to visit Tokyo Tower (Photo-stop) in the afternoon. Then, go to Shibuya for shopping and touring. We will stay in Shibuya no less than 90 minutes.  After dinner, transfer back to the hotel in Tokyo.

Day 11, 03 APR: TOKYO – HAKONE– TOKYO (B.L)

Head to Kamakura to visit the famous Kamakura Daibutsu which was built during the Kamakura Period and influenced by Song Dynasty-era Buddhist statues. The Buddha statue is valued as the national treasure of Japan! Then, visit numerous popular attractions according to the Michelin Tourist Guide, starting with  “Hase-dera”. Next visit the Imperial Palace, the home of the Emperor of Japan, as well as Nijubashi Bridge. Then, proceed to Meiji Jingu Shrine, a shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken of Japan. This temple has one of the largest archway (Torii) in Japan. See one of the tallest standing tower in the world – Tokyo Skytree from afar. Later, visit Senso-ji to admire the ancient Buddhist temple, which is also the oldest temple in Tokyo. Afterward, return to the hotel around 8 pm.

Day 12, 04 APR: TOKYO (B)
Free leisure day in Tokyo.

Day 13, 05 APR: TOKYO – SEOUL – SYDNEY (B)
After breakfast, take limousine bus from the hotel to the airport for the home bound flight to Australia via Seoul. You will fly overnight.

 

Day 14, 06 APR: SYDNEY ARRIVAL

You will arrive in Sydney in the morning. Your unforgettable South Korea and Japan tour ends.
