ITINERARY

Day 01, 27 AUG: VIENNA – CRUISE (D)

Embark onto your Danube River cruise. You may check in from 4pm.

 

Day 02, 28 AUG: VIENNA – DURNSTEIN (B.L.D)

Vienna, Austria’s capital, lies in the country’s east by the Danube River. Its artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also known for its Imperial Palaces, including Schonbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. In the Museumsquartier district, historic and contemporary buildings display works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists. Today we will enjoy a bus and walking city tour of Vienna. At 11:59pm, ship starts to sail to Durnstein in Austria.

 

Day 03, 29 AUG: DURNSTEIN – MELK – LINZ (B.L.D)

At 07:00, arrive in Durnstein. Depart for Melk at 12pm and arrive at Melk at 3pm. Melk is an Austrian town on the Danube River, west of Vienna. It’s known for the 11th Century Melk Abbey, a vast monastery built high above the town. Gold statuary adorns its domed Abbey Church, and the huge library houses medieval manuscripts. The Marmorsaal is a baroque hall with a ceiling fresco and red marble walls. We will visit the Melk Abbey (at your own cost). Ship continues to sail to Linz at 20:00.

 

Day 04, 30 AUG: LINZ – BRATISLAVA (B.L.D)

We will arrive in Linz at 7am. Linz is a city in Upper Austria, straddling the Danube River midway between Salzburg and Vienna. Baroque buildings, including Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus) and the old cathedral or Alter Dom, ring Hauptplatz, the old town’s main square. The riverside Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz has a major modern art collection. Across the river, the striking Ars Electronica Center focuses on society, technology and life in the future. You can explore this city on your own. The ship will leave Linz for Bratislava at 2pm.

 

Day 05, 31 AUG: BRATISLAVA – BUDAPEST (B.L.D)

We will arrive in Bratislava at 8am. Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is set along the Danube River by the border with Austria and Hungary. It’s surrounded by vineyards and the Little Carpathian Mountains, crisscrossed with forested hiking and cycling trails. The pedestrian-only, 18th-century old town is known for its lively bars and cafes. Perched atop a hill, the reconstructed Bratislava Castle overlooks the old town and the Danube. We can enjoy a walking city tour of the capital of Slovakia (at your own cost). The ship will leave Bratislava for Budapest at 19:00.

 

Day 06, 01 SEP: BUDAPEST (B.L.D)

We will arrive in Budapest at 7am. Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is bisected by the Danube River. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town, where the Budapest History Museum traces city life from Roman times onward. Trinity Square is home to 13th-century Matthias Church and the turrets of the Fishermen’s Bastion, which offer sweeping views. Today we can enjoy a bus and walking city tour of Budapest (at your own cost).

 

Day 07, 02 SEP: BUDAPEST – ESZTERGOM (B.L.D)

At 4:30am, the ship will depart Budapest for Esztergom, a city in northern Hungary, 46 kilometres northwest of the capital Budapest. You will arrive at Esztergom at 9am. The ship will continue sailing to Vienna at 1pm

 

Day 08, 03 SEP: VIENNA – LINZ (B.L.D)

At 7am, we will arrive in Vienna and the ship will depart at 7pm for Linz, Austria.

 

Day 09, 04 SEP: LINZ – SCHLOGEN – REGENSBURG (B.L.D)

At 1pm, we will arrive at Linz and at 1:30pm leave for Schlogen, Austria. Arrive at Schlogen at 6:30pm and continue sailing to Regensburg, Germany at 7pm.

 

Day 10, 05 SEP: REGENSBURG – NUREMBERG (B.L.D)

At 1pm, we will arrive at Regensburg. Regensburg, a Bavarian city on the Danube River in southeast Germany, is known for its well-preserved medieval centre. The 12th-century Stone Bridge, a 310m-long icon with 16 arches, crosses the river to the old town. The 13th-century Regensburg Cathedral, a twin-spired Gothic landmark, is home to the Regensburger Domspatzen Choir. Visit Walhalla which is modelled after the Parthenon and honours illustrious Germans. We can explore this city on our own. We will continue sailing to Nuremberg in Germany at 7pm.

 

Day 11, 06 SEP: NUREMBURG – BAMBERG (B.L.D)

At 1pm, we will arrive at Nuremberg, the second-largest city of the Federal State of Bavaria after its capital Munich. We can enjoy a city tour of Nuremberg (at your own cost). At 7pm, continue sailing towards Bamberg, a town in northern Bavaria, Germany.

 

Day 12, 07 SEP: BAMBERG – WURZBURG (B.L.D)

Arrive at Bamberg at 7am. Bamberg’s old town preserves structures from the 11th to 19th centuries including the muraled Altes Rathaus (town hall), which occupies an island in the Regnitz reached by arched bridges. The Romanesque-stye Bamberg Cathedral features four towers and numerous stone carvings. We can enjoy a city tour of Bamberg (at your own cost). At 1pm depart for Wurzburg.

 

Day 13, 08 SEP: WUZBURG – MILTENBERG (B.L.D)

We will arrive at Wurzburg at 9am. Würzburg is known for lavish baroque and rococo architecture, particularly the 18th-century Residenz palace, with ornate rooms, a huge fresco by Venetian artist Tiepolo and an elaborate staircase. Home to numerous wine bars, cellars and wineries, Würzburg is the centre of the Franconian wine country, with its distinctive bocksbeutel (bottles with flattened round shapes). We can enjoy a city tour of Wurzburg (at your own cost). At 5pm, depart for Miltenberg.

 

Day 14, 09 SEP: MILTENBERG – MAINZ (B.L.D)

We will arrive at Miltenberg at 9am. At 3pm, continue sailing towards Mainz.

 

Day 15, 10 SEP: MAINZ – NEXT DESTINATION (B)

We will arrive in Mainz at 9am. Depart for your next destination. End of service.
