Day 01, 25 AUG: SYDNEY – DUBAI

Depart Sydney to Vienna via Dubai on Emirates and fly overnight.


Day 02, 26 AUG: DUBAI – VIENNA

Connect your flight in Dubai to Vienna and arrive in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we are met and transferred to our hotel in Vienna for the night.

Day 03, 27 AUG: VIENNA – EMBARKATION ON CRUISE (B.D)

We are at leisure to explore Vienna on our own. In the afternoon, we are transferred to pier to embark on our Danube River cruise. Check in time from 16:00.

Day 04, 28 AUG: VIENNA – DURNSTEIN (B.L.D)

Vienna, Austria’s capital, lies in the country’s east on the Danube River. Its artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. In the Museums Quartier district, historic and contemporary buildings display works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists. Today we will enjoy a bus and walking city tour of Vienna. At 23:59, ship starts to sail to Durnstein in Austria.

Day 05, 29 AUG: DURNSTEIN – MELK – LINZ (B.L.D)

At 7am, arrive in Durnstein. Depart for Melk at 12:00 and arrive at Melk at 3pm. Melk is an Austrian town on the River Danube, west of Vienna. It’s known for the 11th-century Melk Abbey, a vast monastery built high above the town. Gold statuary adorns its domed Abbey Church, and the huge library houses medieval manuscripts. The Marmorsaal is a baroque hall with a ceiling fresco and red marble walls. We will visit the Melk Abbey. Ship continues to sail to Linz at 8pm.

Day 06, 30 AUG: LINZ – BRATISLAVA (B.L.D)

We will arrive in Linz at 7am. Linz is a city in Upper Austria, straddling the Danube River midway between Salzburg and Vienna. Baroque buildings, including Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus) and the old cathedral or Alter Dom, ring Hauptplatz, the old town’s main square. The riverside Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz has a major modern art collection. Across the river, the striking Ars Electronica Center focuses on society, technology and life in the future. You can explore this city on your own. The ship will leave Linz for Bratislava at 2pm.

Day 07, 31 AUG: BRATISLAVA – BUDAPEST (B.L.D)

We will arrive in Bratislava at 08:00. Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is set along the Danube River by the border with Austria and Hungary. It’s surrounded by vineyards and the Little Carpathian Mountains, crisscrossed with forested hiking and cycling trails. The pedestrian-only, 18th-century old town is known for its lively bars and cafes. Perched atop a hill, the reconstructed Bratislava Castle overlooks old town and the Danube. We will enjoy a walking city tour of the capital of Slovakia today. The ship will leave Bratislava for Budapest at 7pm.

Day 08, 01 SEP: BUDAPEST (B.L.D)

We will arrive in Budapest at 7am. Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is bisected by the River Danube. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town, where the Budapest History Museum traces city life from Roman times onward. Trinity Square is home to 13th-century Matthias Church and the turrets of the Fishermen’s Bastion, which offer sweeping views. Today we will enjoy a bus and walking city tour of Budapest.

Day 09, 02 SEP: BUDAPEST – ESZTERGOM (B.L.D)

At 4:30am, ship will depart Budapest for Esztergom, a city in northern Hungary, 46 kilometres northwest of the capital Budapest, and will arrive at Esztergom at 9am. Ship will continue to sail to Vienna at 1pm.

Day 10, 03 SEP: VIENNA – LINZ (B.L.D)

At 7am, we will arrive in Vienna and the ship will depart at 7pm for Linz, Austria.

Day 11, 04 SEP: LINZ – SCHLOGEN – REGENSBURG (B.L.D)

At 1pm, we will arrive at Linz and at 1:30pm leave for Schlogen, Austria. Arrive at Schlogen at 6:30pm and continue to sail to Regensburg, Germany at 7pm.

Day 12, 05 SEP: REGENSBURG – NUREMBERG (B.L.D)

At 1pm, we will arrive at Regensburg. Regensburg, a Bavarian city on the Danube River in southeast Germany, is known for its well-preserved medieval core. The 12th-century Stone Bridge, a 310m-long icon with 16 arches, crosses the river to the old town. The 13th-century Regensburg Cathedral, a twin-spired Gothic landmark, is home to the Regensburger Domspatzen choir. Walhalla, a Parthenon replica just east of the city, honours illustrious Germans. We can explore this city on our own. We will continue sailing to Nuremberg in Germany at 7pm.

Day 13, 06 SEP: NUREMBERG – BAMBERG (B.L.D)

At 1pm, we will arrive at Nuremberg, the second-largest city of the German federal state of Bavaria after its capital Munich. We will enjoy a city tour of Nuremberg today. At 7pm, continue sailing to Bamberg, a town in northern Bavaria, Germany.

Day 14, 07 SEP: BAMBERG – WURZBURG (B.L.D)

Arrive at Bamberg at 7am. Bamberg’s old town preserves structures from the 11th to 19th centuries including the muraled Altes Rathaus (town hall), which occupies an island in the Regnitz reached by arched bridges. The Romanesque Bamberg Cathedral, begun in the 11th century, features 4 towers and numerous stone carvings. We will enjoy a city tour of Bamberg this morning. At 1pm, leave for Wurzburg in Germany.

Day 15, 08 SEP: WURZBURG – MILTENBERG (B.L.D)

We will arrive at Wurzburg at 9am. Würzburg is a city in Germany's Bavaria region. It's known for lavish baroque and rococo architecture, particularly the 18th-century Residenz palace, with ornate rooms, a huge fresco by Venetian artist Tiepolo and an elaborate staircase. Home to numerous wine bars, cellars and wineries, Würzburg is the center of the Franconian wine country, with its distinctive bocksbeutel (bottles with flattened round shapes). We will enjoy a city tour of Wurzburg today. At 5pm, depart for Miltenberg in Germany.

Day 16, 09 SEP: MILTENBERG – MAINZ (B.L.D)

We will arrive at Miltenberg at 9am and at 3pm continue sailing to Mainz in Germany.

Day 17, 10 SEP: MAINZ – FRANKFURT – DUBAI (B)

We will arrive at Mainz at 9am. After check-out, we are transferred to Frankfurt airport for our flight to Sydney via Dubai on Emirates.

 

Day 18, 11 SEP: DUBAI – SYDNEY

Connect our flight in Dubai to Sydney and we will arrive in Sydney in the evening. Our unforgettable Danube River cruise concludes.

All cabins are spacious with stylish and comfortable design. Main deck cabins have panorama windows while cabins on Middle (Rhone) and Boat (Saone) decks have French balconies (*renovation scheduled for 2018 winter-season). All cabins are equipped with twin / double beds, air-conditioning / heating system, wardrobe / closet, TV set, inner telephone, hairdryer and in room safe. The cabins with French balconies are fitted with 2 chairs and a table.
