20 Day Best of Balkan Tour 2023

Highly recommend this tour

We returned from the above tour late last night - flight delay out of Doha.

I had a wonderful time and Dejan, our guide was excellent - and so knowledgeable.

I took 3,555 photos - that is AFTER culling and sent off over 2,000 with my 73 pages of notes in about 90 emails - sent daily when Wi-Fi allowed.

In Belgrade I did a casual survey that you may be interested in.
From my notes:
I had done a rough survey one morning at breakfast asking a few questions. All but one (Eric, the negative German) said that the trip exceeded expectations, and was excellent value for money.

We were blessed with fine weather and it was quite warm until we arrived into Belgrade, then the winter clothes came out.

I will highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Thanks again

20 Day Best of Balkan Tour 2023

Very Good Organized Tour To Balkan

Itinerary
It was a marvelous itinerary with a full on program. Great daily activities from morning till late evenings. The phrase “waste of time” or “Discontented complaint” were definitely not being mentioned in this trip.

Tour Guide:
Mr. Dejan and our coach captains once again did an excellent job by touring us around. Their caring and willing to provide individual guidance had contributed to a part of a successful tour. During this trip, we had only one minor incidence that one of the members’ purse was stolen and lost about $1.500 Euro. However, Dejan helped her to report to the local police and hopefully she could claim one part of the stolen value back through her travel insurance. In brief, a good tour guide with a helpful coach captain could make everything different.

Hotels:
Most of the hotels provided excellent breakfast and comfortable accommodation.

Food:
A good mixture of buffet and proper dinners with entertainments. We were all over eating and put on weight. However, without lunch is always a good idea because we could extend our visiting times to buildings and other scenic spots. I would like to suggest that our following trips should be more or less like this. If lunch is un-avoidable, then I will suggest our overseas agency to prepare picnic lunch.

Scenic Spots:
This tour provided a mixture of city tour and sightseeing. It provided a combination of visiting old towns and national parks, fortresses etc. There were lots to be seen around all seven countries. I personally preferred Slovenia, Croatia and some coastal towns such as Dubrovnik and Montenegro. Other cities were also great and worth visiting.

Water:
A bottle of water per day was great and it saved us a lot of time to purchase and store up our own water.

Coach:
We had two excellent coach captains (Father & son) who were very friendly and caring. The coach captain worked co-operatively with our tour guide. Together they provided wonderful services and warm interpersonal skills.

The use of Public Toilets:
The use of local currency for public toilet entry could cause some minor problems in this trip. It was due to the short stay in some countries that did not recognize Euro. My suggestion for the future group is that Asia Discovery Travel collects one or two dollars from each member and passes this small sum of money to the tour guide who can pay for each toilet stop on our behalf.

After returning home from 15-Day Best of China Tour, only one sentence can deeply express my grateful feelings -- "Thank you Asia Discovery Tours!" Without your thoughtful arrangement, we wouldn't have such a magnificent experience in China. People we met, places we went and the unique natural scenery we saw are all still in our memories. Everything was well organised, everything was well unforgettable. We are looking forward to the next trip again with you, and we will definitely recommend all our friends to share the experiences as we had before.

Dear Allan,

You may recall I travelled on this trip with Fran Herd. We want to say thank you very much for everything you did for us with this tour. We had a very good time. We learnt much about China. Your guides were excellent and they were always there to collect us at the airports and show us around the cities. The accommodation was excellent and we enjoyed the wide ranges of food. In particular I also want to say that the Yangtze Cruise was one of the most interesting things I have done in my life. We appreciate all the work you did - and we thank Asia Discovery Tours for a great job.

Yours sincerely,

Peter EJ Murray and Ms Fran Herd

Dear Allan,

Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for arranging the China tour which Barbara and myself have just returned, and to add, apart from some minor variances, was simply excellent and one of the best tours we have been on. Thank you again.

Ciao, Jon Treleaven

Have just completed your Silk Road Train tour and had a wonderful experience. One comment though, is 3 meals a day of Chinese food was too much for Westerners. If a simple breakfast of bread, fruit, yoghurt etc. had been provided each day, we all would have appreciated that much better than a 12 course Chinese meal! We actually cancelled 2 of our meals and did something different. But it was a wonderfully-led and guided tour and everyone enjoyed it immensely!

Nihao Allan,

Thank you and your company for giving me the opportunity to experience the Silk Road Explorer Tour. My partner and I have previously visited China, three times including Shanghai and Beijing. So we found Urumqi and Kashgar very interesting and much better than we expected. All hotels were of a good standard and satisfactory. All meals were good. All guides were excellent.Tours were good. Due to rain on one day, as an alternative, we visited the Urumqi Museum, which was excellent and has a good modern display of items relevant to the Silk Road. Thank you for your assistance with the lost Air China ticket (Shanghai-Sydney). Eventually we received the new ticket in Shanghai. Once again thank you for your services.

Yours faithfully, Robert R. Woods

Hi Allan,

Just a short note to say that my husband and I and the rest of the family enjoyed our recent Wonder Tour to China. The accomodation was very comfortable and the food was good. Thanks for everything and you never know we may book again in the not too distant future. My brother Mark, his wife Ratana and Ray and myself are pretty keen on doing the Silk Road next. You can keep us in mind. I would not do the same cities again mainly because it would not hold the same enchantment as when I first visited the Forbidden City, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven and the Warriors on this tour. It would not be the same seeing it a second time if you know what I mean. I was in awe with the history of the country and am very proud of my heritage!

Take care, Maria Cheung
